New Here...Need Help...

Hello all from the Great "Not White Yet" North in Calgary, Alberta, Canada!

I just joined and this is my first post, so bear with me..

For this last Father's day my wife and daughter built me a 24 ft 5 lane raceway. At current, I'm running 20 feet of it as I ran out of room in it's current home...I have a finish line marked at the 19 foot mark leaving a foot for run off and catch box..( I'll try to get a pic up here somehow)

 I need a finish line/gate...bad..

I'm hoping to find an idea for a mechanical "winner indicator" of some sort. I don't have very much money right now and I'm not great when it comes to building an Ardunio unit...BUT... I'm a whiz with mechanical things and putting together odds and ends to create something.

Currently, I have a stop box built in such a way that it allows me to setup 2 cell phones to film at the finish line, then take that video, run it through a slow-mo app, and HOPEFULLY...just maybe be able to tell who won..It's a slow process and most of the time all I get a colored blurs. Most of the time I can tell who won either by eyeball or via the slow-mo replay,but.... I need a finish gate...

Can anyone help?

I know Hot Wheels made a 4 lane mechanical gate that would be absolutely perfect...well...minus one lane...but I would like to get all 5 lanes set up....

BTW...Thanks for having me here and for any help that can be offered.

Hey Birdman!

And Welcome! If you save up for it, the 3DBot finish line is a really nice way to go....simple and accurate. If you do a search on here, you can fid a link...they are a little pricey, but they work well. If you look at my videos, you can see how they work.

Good luck
