Possible series idea
If Keith decides to pass on hosting this event, I can do the hosting and donate them to the Finishline Derby for their Friday night kids races at our next Red Neck Derby event...
How about we make it another winner takes all series like the Bare Muscle series was? I just don't want to be responsible for anything if the cars were donated to kids. Maybe we could all pitch in some money to have JDC build another sweet trophy / display for the top 10 cars......
Maybe I'm gonna get the chance to run that Challenger after all.

Just gonna hafta add a little more weight. OK, I'm in.
I have a hard enough time finding fast MBXs as it is; if it's pinkslips, I don't know if I could afford it--if it's charity, I might send separate ones for that. Other than that, I'm all for it--sign me up when it's official!
Well guys, it looks like this race is going to officially happen sometime! Do we want to make it a one-venue race or a cross-country series? Either way, I most likely won't be able to host, especially depending on what month it is held in. If I do end up hosting though, I would rather hold the finals here, if it is OK. I probably wouldn't have a problem donating my entries to charity, unless this was the first series that I have ever won. Yes, I know I'm a selfish jerk! }:-)
How about this? Everyone entering a car for this race send in a packaged HW or MB as the car to be donated. No issues of lead being given to a child and everybody gets their car back.
- you got it dadvbal, the kids wanna play with the racers not admire them... — model40fan
- Yeah but the whole idea was to have a Matchbox bodies only race. — KandORacing
- Matchbox race, donate a packaged HW. Cool, I'm in. — Nightstalker
- Keep the MB format just send a donation car. — Dadvball
Milton, sounds like K&O is passing the torch...do you want to take the lead? If so, feel free to post any rule changes.
I may have found my entry....
- K & O can still be the organizer...looks like he might still be doing the finals if we have a multi event.series. — Milton-Fox
Alright guys, I am willing to host the finals. Whoever wants to kick it off can decide what date to start the series.
Here are the official rules:
-Start with any Matchbox casting. You may use a Hot Wheels chassis if you would like, but the body MUST BE A MATCHBOX BODY.
-No wheel / axle restrictions. Use whatever: FTE, High Speed, basic 5 spoke, Redline, Laser Wheels, whatever you want.
-Weight Limit 61g for the Matchbox 61st Anniversary.
-Dry lubes only
You can also donate a packaged diecast car of any brand to be donated to a local charity if you wish. Donated cars will be sent to whoever hosts the first Heet. When the racing begins I will start a new thread for results.
I am withdrawing from this event and hosting..
Well....if this race ever becomes a reality...I have a car to work with...

Looks like this series got enough interest that we will make it happen! I will post another thread later this evening with rules, dates and other details. If anyone is interested in hosting, please let me know with a comment on this thread, PM, email, etc.
I call dibs on hosting the finals though! Can't wait to host for the first time and try to build a good Matchbox car!
Well, I'll think about it..... If I do I would rather host the finals, but it would depend on what dates the series would be running for.
