I hope it gets the green light! I have the newest yellow one, but that satin black one is already 'awesomer' and has the 5 Spokes (in red even!)

I have the new yellow one, the red one from last year, and gray one from a couple of years ago with the correct 5 spoke wheels. It's even got the removable surf board! (I just think that's cool for some reason )

...
... IMO...
I've owned and been driving a street rod for over 30 years...
in the street rod community a rat rod is a lesser equipped, lesser finished street rod...
when hot rod magazine came about all the cars were street rods, pre-49... the term fit...
but since they call anything that is hopped up a "hot rod"... they confused the word "rod"... it always meant pre-49... but they call a post '48 big block anything a hot rod... it may be hot but not a rod...
.
so a rat, [street] "rod" is a pre '49...
in MAINE to run a car without bumpers, hood, fenders etc. requires street rod number plates...
there are no plates that allow you to "rat" anything but a pre-'49...
any make '49 to '53 cars are considered shoeboxes, [because of the overall shape]...a custom can be any year...muscle cars [aren't my bag] but I "think" they are '64 ? to '71...federally mandated power reduction from '71 to '72, a 302 ford lost 69 hp.

Wait, I'm really confused, could Surf Crate be allowed in this race?

Well I'm 66 and I never knew there was something called a rat rod till this race and I'm trying to learn. So my pair of cars may or may not be what is expected. At any rate I'm having fun. If they are not rat rods let me know what I did wrong for next time...................
