Remote Control Starting Line?

Stroller Thursday, 12/12/2013

If you are using the 6 lane starting ling how would you make it remote control. I usually run races by myself. Also how would you remotely use my homemade undertrack starting system.....

I know my start gate is entirely different, but I just tie string to it and pull. Not very elegant but it works

Can you post up (or link t o) your under track system here again - I cant remember where it is in the other threads!

I was thinking of using a string as well, but I believe you would need a "pully" attached to the "storage" area in some way to pull the gate straight down. (An eye bolt would also work). Small drilled holes and fishing line are the current "string" of choice. Another consideration was to weigh the bottom of the gate and set up a magnetic/electronic release button to let it drop down on its own.

The advantage I found, was that the gate dropped completely out of the track lanes by pulling it farther down than the lever provided does. It doesnt seem to have had any effect on the release points of the posts as the motion is still the same and my lane pairings didnt change.

Thanks! That is the gate I thought you where referencing. I havent determined where to place the trip mechanism at the finish line yet - have you? I was thinking A key chain ring would make a good finger pull lever!

That seems reasonable...
