Review: Speedweeks 2026 NASCAR Nittro Series

The start of this years 15 Race Nittro Nascars Series has started with a Speedweeks!

Hi, I’m Marc D, and I’m hoping to report on most event in this Series for 2026, much as I used to try and report on the old sub4ra Nascar series, many years ago!
History: Many great diecast builders cut their teeth on this format and series. Its nothing flash compared to todays high flying hosts, but what it offers, is true grassroots diecast racing, (reminds me of the races with neighbours as a kid) all the highs and lows of emotions, hard bragging rights competition, thrills and spills, all at no entry fee, complete this year with 15 races and associated qualifying. HSL, the host has tons of enthusiasm, as well as having done it all before! Plus, yeah, his budget is not a million dollars, but he is open to constructive and helpful input on his track set ups etc. So lets get into it!

This is the first year HSL has run a Speedweeks. Great! I really liked it when sub4ra ran it. Early season bragging rights!.....But what if you didn’t go well? To be honest, this event is one on one (no one pushing from behind) on the 6 lane. If you know, you know, but it is not the end of the world. Cars can behave totally differently when being pushed to the limits and beyond in the 15 race series. And can they handle it? For newer builders, there are many in this Series who will gladly give you advice on where to look for speed, tutorials etc. Just reach out to them. We all started somewhere!
So I will go through all the 24 teams entered, in order from their top placing. Remember it is not too late to enter this Series, or alternatively you can replace any cars in your team throughout the year. So let’s roll!

Bragging rights 2026 goes to FPD Racing, of LCDRL. Congrats Thomas on the win by Cowl Petty!! Racing on fat tyres from Pixar claimed the day! His other team mates overall went great, claiming 18th, 19th and 21st spots out of a field of 90! However, I can already see Thomas pondering the performance of his other car, which may have lost a piston during the races, with a 61st for Deuce Andretti.

Puff Racing was up for second with Misty G ! Team owner Puff, wow I don’t think there is anyone who tries to promote youtube channels/racing like him. Thanks. Congrats today! The team also had some great runs, 11th, 33rd, 58th, but Puff may have put too much in today for all his team mates as he had a slightly disappointing 63rd.

CutRock’R and Crazy Ruby rolled in third today. A good run, and overall team performance 6th, 10th and 13th.

Lurking in 4th position, Flip Racing and Bishop Petty Jnr. Super team result with 5th, 16th and 17th! Plenty of hard racing miles in this team!

With a three car team the Berowra Bangers and Jimbo Rockford rolled into 7th. This car started as a stock in the 2025 Series, but was withdrawn after a few too many crashes! Team mates came 12th and Team Owner Gazza 22nd.

Po’Boy Racing, another ex sub4ra runner claimed 8th with Skeeter Davis. Team mates also 9th, 24th and 38th.

Atomic Bob of Marc Racel Racing made 14th! I bet Marc will enjoy his coffee with that effort! Morgan Shephard also did not disappoint with a 29th, KidZac made the good lane with a 43rd, but Sparky Racer, couldn’t find the spark today at 85th. Well done overall, good luck!

Inlaws Racing, well Gayle lead the team today with a 15th, well done! The other four team members not fairing as well today, 56th, 57th, 67th, 78th. But things can change rubbing bodies in the real races!

20th position, great to see Rancid Cactus giving it a crack here! Sonic rolled well, good one! Tails (never fails) came in 55th, for someone new in the Series, not a bad effort. Good luck!

Uncle Elvis, a great supporter of HSL and this event! His new driver Zardled the team with a 23rd position. 10 team cars in the top 45, will help qualifying for race 1 ! A solid race team, which keeps rolling on!

Lord Shank Racing (Check out his youtube) a creditable 28th with Donald McSpladge! Team owner Lord Shank 45th, yay (aka Zach) 54th,79th, with work to do! Keep at it!

Race host, HSL slips into 30th with the famous Vinnie Nightlife driver! Also 44th, 65th, 69th, cant say he was pushing his cars along! Roll on ! Thanks for your event work!

Demon Preacher with driver RJ McCready held 32nd position, team mate close by at 34th. Solid performance, racing to come! Good luck out there!

Abby Normal Racing has a three car team. Team owner took the spot 39th, 46th, and 59th today. Consistent runners and not a bad result. Racing season to come, good luck!

Timber Creek Speedway Racing fires into 40th position with William Byron. His other driver 52nd, a creditable performance. Good luck out there!

The next teams / drivers are outside of the top 45, which will make qualifying for Race 1, a touch more difficult, but this is racing, and anything can happen!! Also I understand there will be a “B” race, so your chances to roll and race are still there! Good luck all!

Dog Squab Racing, a great diecast community racer! Great to see his two car team. So close, nose to tail at 49th and 50th position in this drag race. Many will tell you life is not a drag, and many things can change in a race, and 15 of them! Good luck mate!

A newish team Racer Gnome, Gnomeo hits 60th. His team mate Racer Gnome also out there. Best way to improve is to build and race. Great to see you have a go in this banging, bashing Series. Race well !

Skid Marks Racing has a three car team, all leaving their marks, best today 64th. Hope your season is a flushing success !

Sloppy Bear Racing has a very colourful 6 car team ! The boss Bear was top dog today at 66tth. Wish you well for the season!

Always great to see Stoopid Fish out there! A great hobbyist in the diecast community! Slick Fitty 70th today, probably not where he would want to be, Cooter Smiff just behind at 72nd. Im sure they are here for the long haul that this Series will be, good luck and roll well!

Lear Fixer Racing? A two car team 73rd with Murray. Fuel Tank Frank also in the team. I’m not sure I heard the name correctly from the vid, HSL to advise me please! Great to see new racers. If you need any advice etc, plenty of people can give advice. Good luck.

Union Racing. Jorn or is that Just Jorn, getting 75th today? Blaze Thunderstruck is in support. Great to have you out there, good luck!

Highway 355 Racing has a three car team. Olukayote Osisanya was their top driver today. Welcome to the Series and good luck!

Decepticon Racing, a new team has Rory out there. Wish him well, and the start of a learning curve.

Well that’s a wrap up!
Bummer of the day was driver Chewie, who dnf’d his runs. His pipes fouling the track edges. I guess he was not smoking!
