I recently suffered a laptop death...luckily, I was able to retrieve all of the pertinent data--whew! BUT, while I wait for the build of my new laptop, I'm working on my wife's laptop--and I forget that I don't have it set for "keep me logged on forever" like I did MY laptop...

Will get back at it in a little bit here...on Notepad first.

That is pretty rough, I lost a couple of magazine articles that way.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME PREVIEW

LIVE FROM EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA

LA SALLE DIVISION PENNANT WINNER AND CHAMPION: NASH RAMBLERS
vs
TUCKER DIVISION CHAMPION: STUDEBAKER LARKS

In the shadow of the World Headquarters of the Mattel Corporation is the neutral site for the Championship Game for this Blind Trial Season.

After earning the La Salle Division Pennant--if only just barely--and then defeating the Mercury Cougars and Hudson Hornets in the playoffs, the NASH RAMBLERS were considered to be one of the favorites at the beginning of the year and after a fast start fizzled into near mediocrity by the end of the regular season, they've managed to be the favorite going into this Championship Game.

One reason for their being the favorite is that they benefit from some consistent scoring from all members of their team. If all of them are on their game, they will be tough to beat.

Meanwhile, the Tucker Division is represented by a team that had a much tougher path to the Championship Game. The history by beating the AMC Javelins in the first round of the playoffs and then they had to survive the challenge posed by the always dangerous and often-high-scoring Stutz Bearcats in the Semi-Finals.

Like the Ramblers, they benefit from a very consistent line-up--and they can put up numbers in any quarter, usually all of them.

This should be a very entertaining game. The teams split the regular season series. In Tournament Seven, the Larks used their homefield advantage to eek out a one point win against the Ramblers. In Tournament Fourteen, with the Ramblers still fighting to hold onto their La Salle Division lead and the Larks without much to play for, the Ramblers won at home by eight.

Who will take home the GreyyCup? We'll find out soon!

Way to go Larks! And mad props to the Valiants for their awesome season. Javelins weren't slouches either, even if their selected mascot was a little...well...foofoo.

In a surprise announcement, AMC Javelins Team Captain Jobe held a press conference today to announce that he is stepping down from that position within the team.

Despite compiling the second best record in history, the Javelins lost in the first round of the playoffs and had to settle for third place in the Tucker Division. No one was blaming Jobe for the disappointing playoff loss to the GreyyCup bound Studebaker Larks, so this move does come as a surprise.

Jobe named his successor. JDC 442 Racing will take over the reigns as AMC Javelins Team Captain going into next year's Active Trial Season. He quickly announced that Jobe was going to stay with the Javelins as a player.

With the Active Trial Season approaching, it is thought that this is merely the first of many changes when it comes to who is captaining which team.

Hmmmm...considering that the Ramblers were the first team not to beat the Javelins (they played to a tie in Tournament Four) and then the Javelins scored a decisive victory over the Ramblers in Tournament Eleven...and that the Javelins, despite losing the first three matches of the year, STILL managed a far better regular season record than the Ramblers did...I don't think Voltron had anything to do with Jobe's decision.

And the only reason that you're not facing the Javelins in the Championship Game is because of an astonishing and unprecedented score by the very same Studebaker Larks who face the Ramblers in that game.
