So, I told my 8yo son about this site and he was seriously excited to start playing. He picked his first bracket and wanted no advise from me... Not only did he best dad, but he took it to the house and won with on his first try. Great Job James Jr!

Great to hear, Goolz, and welcome to the league. It's nice to hear that you and your kid can have some fun picking cars. As silly as it may sound, when I was designing the league I wasn't really planning or expecting kids to play, so it's great to find out it's something that can be enjoyed by all ages.

The hardest picks for me in this race was the Ferrari F40 v Diesel Boy--I thought the winner of this race would win it all and picked wrong on that one. I was also unsure which car would come out of the Ferrari 458 bracket.

This season was fun for me and my boys (8 and just turned 6) as we took home 3 of the top 7 spots with thy boys picking things on their own.

We use what we know from our own races and races in our racing league to help us pick races here. We then take the results here and try to use that on cars that we don't know about to find and enter them in our racing league that we are in.

Wasn't there a new rule this year where the points champion gets the championship car mailed to them? Just kidding. My 8 year old is having me scan the Interent as he wants to use his XMas $$ on a Ferrari F40.

Thanks for a fun season and lets hope there is a warm spell in Ohio so we only have to wait until March for the next season.

Congrats Iowa on becoming a league champion! That's two great seasons in a row for you! Sounds like that other league your sons are involved in, as well as your home racing has made you guys excellent at picking winners. Good job!
See you in Season 4

Congrats on the win Iowa. I thought I would have time to continue playing this season, but my son is taking more of my free time than I thought he would. Shows how naive I am I guess, lol. It's my own fault, I wasn't spending enough time with him before. That has to be priority one for me, but I'll have to see if I can escape for a few minutes each week to try to get involved in Season 4.

Oh and tell your son to look for a Ferrari Testarossa (1996 #35 Gold Medal Speed) instead, it's faster

Brian, quick question. Our family races our on a 50' track (finish line is usually at 40'), which car do you think would take it at that length, the Testarossa or the F40, or possibly the 16 angels? I haven't bought a Hot Wheel online for a while, but I think I'm due

Wow! A 50' track is a monster. Where do you race, cause I could barely fit my 24' track between the living room and dining room of the house I rented before I moved.
I believe the Testarossa outshined the F40 on Brian's 18' track in season 2. But my F40 on my 24' track was one of my top racers. I've never raced on anything longer. I am going to have to break down and buy a couple of 50' rolls to get ready for some Spring time racing. Thank goodness for tax returns!
Good to hear you're spending more time with your son Bandeezee. Hope to see you in season 4.

Pulled out my track tonight to do some testing on new buys.

I'm amazed that some cars are losing in the last few feet of my track. My track is a full 25' long.

So track length really does make a difference with some cars.

On an ultra long track I would have to put my money on the Testarossa. It would be close between it and the F40, I think, but I give the edge to the Testarossa. The 16 Angels, while speedy and heavy, I don't think has the juice to go that long of a distance. It's a great sprinter but I'm not sure it can run a marathon.

And what's with all you guys bailing because of your kids?! You know you can play WITH your kids! Actually, it entered my head to add some sort of "guest" accounts to players that sign-up so you can add accounts for kids without needing them to do the whole e-mail sign-up and everything. When I was making the League I wasn't expecting kid play but it seems a lot you guys have fun playing with your kids, so it might be worth a look.

I bought one of these on Ebay for 30 cents a few days back for me. Picked up the 97 Ford F150 as well as my youngest son picked that as one he wanted to buy. Still tryign to get that F40.

Does anyone have any experience with the F40 Gold Medal versus the one that was raced here? Many more the Gold Medal ones are availble.

I got my Ferrari Testarossa yesterday. Felt weird opening a car that was 15 years old, just to race it!

It is fast, but can't beat my fastest cars on my track---it is close though. Within a car length. Our track is about 20 feet in length. Adding some graphite may bring it up to speed. The competiton track we use is much longer/steeper incline so the results there may be different there and it will be entered starting next month.

My youngest son had his 6th birthday in January and he got a 5 pack of Matchbox cars. We found a truck that just hauls and can keep up and barley beats the new Testarossa. It just launches on the downhill run. We have stayed away from Matchbox cars as I have never seen a super fast one. I might have to reconsider now.

Matchbox hasn't impressed me in the speed department. Sounds like maybe found the exception to the rule, but I did a comparison last year looking at two same-model cars and there was no contest.

I was just wondering why the Matchbox cars generally do very poorly on the track. I picked up an Audi R8 and a Lotus matchbox...both stink on the track in a major way. Been thinking about putting FTE wheels on the R8 and see what happens.

I have a new fastest non-FTE car, wasn't expecting it to be but it's quick. 2011 model Synkro. Metal base with translucent purple body.
