Securing track to roadbed.

StarCorps Tuesday, 6/27/2023

What are some of the ways people secure track to the road bed? I am looking for solutions, and figured instead of kludging something together, I'd actually just ask you guys.

Discussion

I recently started my first track build so I am curious to hear some solutions for this as well.   I picked up some velcro but I have not tried that yet.

I needed to do am update on the jamestown bypass, so just shot this

very happy with the washers,  bridge spine is 1" x 1"  aluminum 5' + / splice in the middle

I wanted a clear span to see the train layout

you'll need spacers to screw the washers to a board

  • This is a really elegant solution. I can see how to install this on my own track bed, pretty easy. I only need a flat screw, a small washer for spacing, and then the 1 inch washer above that. Thank you. — StarCorps
  • Though - I did hear you say 'counter sunk' on the washers. I don't quite understand, as they are supposed to protrude? — StarCorps
  • I'll move the next stuff to jamestown bypass, and not clog your thread — dr_dodge

washer, and countersink head screw

1" washers,  take track with you, make sure the screw doesn't push the track up, and the washers are tight in the slot

good luck, post pics!

(my ace hardware doesn't even look at me funny anymore, walking in with a hunk of orange track...lol)
