Start angle Length

How long is the track? I'd say about half way down is where it should go flat. Start at 15 degree angle and go up from there.

I also have the Playrobotics 2 lane system and I don't think there is a right or wrong for angle or length of decent, as long as your "transition" from the "Drop" to the "Runout" is smooth. I personally went 22" high and 8' long with my "Drop" to a 10' "Runout. I also built a box to hold the start gate, which makes the "Drop" 24" to the back of the start gate. Here are some pics

Here’s my chance to brag a little. White Pine Incline fun facts,

22” drop, 3’11” hill, 28 degrees from horizontal. 1 inch gentle rise, 10’ plus total length. I call it an eighth mile. The lanes are surprisingly equal with zero effort and minimal cleaning to simulate a real life 2 lane blacktop. She was born a test track and has morphed into what you see here. Grudge racing only, no tournaments.

If you look at the horizontal supports at the top of the ramp you can see all the different heights I have tried. I also have 3 ramps. 2’, 4’ and 6’. Finish line is in pencil. Not every bodies idea of a good track but it is fast and gets played with a lot. YouTube froze my ability to post races but you may catch an older race on alva1370. Thank you.

Just enjoy it no matter what the finished product is, as it was a lot of fun building my track, and good luck with it.

This was my drag strip setup that I took to the office for race day. 21ft long start to finish, total length 24ft. 3.5ft high with the down slope at 8ftlong before the flat.

I am doing a rotation through 4 tracks all with different drop height and lengths. The performance of the 22 cars entered changes with each track. If you are building a track so you can test how your car will do before mailing it off, I would build it so that your gate height is adjustable so you can test for different tracks. If you are wanting to race your cars and make a top 25 or 50 rank, I would lock it down so that it's as consistant as possible.

Well for a good while it's going to be the midnight drag races at our home. If I wanna have a drag strip that is scale quarter mile. so the plan is to run a track that is approximately 22 feet long from our dining area through the kitchen and into a separate room after my wife goes to bed. She always heads in pretty early so I would have a good hour or two.

Below is a pic of a one by six white pine plank being propped up by a hinged support. it's a 3 feet long that starts at 18 inches high. I have a start gate arriving on Sunday. my primary test track is only 7 feet long so it's gonna be interesting to contrast how cars run on that short track versus this longer track. We'll have to see how long the midnight drag races occur until Mrs. abnormal catches wind of the operation.
