The Easter update

Spring is here and as I watch dandelions bloom in my front yard, I hope to see a new Redline Derby bloom very soon as well.

A new Redline Derby website will be entering a testing period next week and then should get launched soon after. If you volunteered to help test the site, expect details very soon.

There's a lot of housekeeping to do to get things ready, and a ton of articles to write but it'll get there slowly and surely. The PhotoBucket fiasco last year was a near-death experience but we'll overcome in the long run.

The obvious change with the new website will be a fresh coat of paint, but other than that, the track directory database will be back so we can show off our track builds, and I'm happy to offer image hosting for members so you can upload car photos for posts. It won't be as full-featured as a paid image hosting service, but now we won't be as dependent on 3rd party image hosts that could shutdown at any moment.

My reporting shows that more than 60% of visitors are doing so on their phones and mobile devices, so the new site will cater to them a little more - as they will undoubtedly be the future as well. I'm working hard to make the image hosting work easily from phones since that's our cameras now. No more site jumping and copying/pasting if I have my way.

I'm also doing my best to better organize topics and articles so they're easy to find. Expect collections for specific things (like wheels & axles) as well of guides and how-to articles. The message board structure is horrible for finding information so hopefully this will help.

And then after the new site launches and whatever bugs are worked out, next on the list is the long awaited Fantasy League game. I'm excited to start work on bringing it back to life and the new website guts will help that happen even more. Besides I've got an entire peg wall of cars just waiting to be unlocked and racers my League players.

I know this is all a very long time coming...nearly 5 years, if I'm counting correctly...but it's finally knocking on the door and I'm happy to let it in.  I know business has dipped a bit but I'm hopeful this will all be the kick in the butt I need to help right the ship and get things back on course. I appreciate all your help and support while we continue to make Redline Derby Racing the best place for diecast racing.

Full Steam Ahead!!!!

These have nothing to do with the upcoming youtube show "The Quest for Speed", the entire box is basically full and all the bags have multiple cars in them....these are ready for us hosting some RLD Fantasy League races, which we are ready to do....looking forward to the re-launch of RLD!!!!
