The Quest for Speed
Speed Force and I will be starting a new show/series on our youtube channel called...The Quest for Speed. We will be hunting down older castings and castings with good reputations and holding small tournaments leading up to a Championship Tournament...the plan is for it to be bi-monthly,
I'll give the community a heads-up once it hits the League of Speed youtube channel...should be fun and educational from a racing stand point....Peace-LoS.

This will be the thread where we will post the episodes....which we will be calling..."Quest". Here is a premise of how we are going to do it, we want the racing to be as random as possible, so....
We roll one dice and get the # 1-6 and then roll two dice and get the total # of 2-10, so we could have a 4 and a 9, we will then find castings that have the two #'s on the card and select them till we have 8 cars. Then using playing cards ace - 8, we will assign the cars #'s 1-8. Then the cars will enter the Octagon of Speed...1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5...that bracket will be raced until we have the Octagon 1 winner, who will be garaged until we have raced Octagon's 2 thru 16 giving us a 16 car bracket that will race to determine the first Champion in the Quest for Speed. Then the show will re-start the next episode and we will do it again. The first "Quest" will hit youtube next week and be bi-monthly so April - November Octagon's 1-16 and the Quest Championship in December.

Nothing like Tobacco Road or Bootleg Run, but The Quest for Speed will have it's own separate "track" for the show....nothing super fancy, but I've got standards!!!!
I've got to cut the two(2) final pieces of square dowel tomorrow with the chop saw and then the track channel will be complete and the track base will be ready for paint.
The research done on the 90's castings from China is part of what I hope will make the show a success...there will be racing, but it will go into "why" we are racing certain castings etc., and in the process entertain and hopefully learn some stuff along the way.
We should have the first show up tomorrow night or Friday night.
The Quest for Speed is Eternal
Just about done with the 8' finish section of "Quest Speedway"...re-tape tomorrow and hit the square dowel rails with white and the Black and White Checkered finish section will be done.
Love doing business with reasonable people...bought 12 cars off ebay and some were ending in 6 days...since I bought 12 he accepted the minimum bid and closed the auctions and gave me reasonable shipping.
Pleased with how the track base turned out....simple and fun...gives a good look.
We are looking forward to it as well....the "newest" castings will be 2012 Mainlines and Mystery Pack cars (the last decent year for stock/mainline speed IMO)....the show will not be strictly a "rip n race" as we will roll the dice on some loose castings as well, and no graphite added, just a little break in time. There will be JL's and MB's in the mix and FTE's, Hot Ones, Ultra Hots, Gold Medal Speed and Race Aces. Also, the cars will not be sorted due to different weights etc., just wide open racing on....The Quest for Speed.
