Sinisterdog 10/28/12

As most of you know by now, Hurricane Sandy is bearing down on the east coast including lovely New London, Ct. I have spoken with the mayor and the governor and rest assured that when the haulers start making their way from Beaumont, they will receive the red carpet treatment and be given a full police escort through the state directly into the FOTF Speedway grounds. The track crew will be working double shifts all week to ensure the raceway is dry and free of debris by next weekends festivities. The FOTF Hall of Champions will be showing off some new hardware next weekend as Team Sinisterdog had a nice month at both the Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club as well as the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club. It should be noted that FOTF Speedway's trackside food service will be down 1 hot dog vendor as Jermaine's lovely wife Marissa is expecting any time now and Jermaine will remain on extended leave to be at her side for the blessed event.

USPS tracking shows the cars arrived in Beaumont at 6am this morning. Hopefully we'll have them later today. If so they will be raced late tonight or first thing in the morning.

, i have it from a reliable source that the FOTF raceway is the only road in CT. that the state police didn't close...

Being my first mail-in and modified race I was anxious to see how my cars would do. I have a lot to learn but it was nice to see my Thunderbird do ok in the loser's bracket.

That T-Bird went real good. Coincidentally, you lost to the Black #13 both times. That is one of the fastest cars in the race. I don't think your very far off. I'm sure we've never seen that wheel combination in any mail in races...

After posting I realized that the 2 F-100s are reversed in the photo. Sorry, I can't retake the pic as the cars are boxed and ready for shipping to FOTF.

Some great racing this morning!
Not as fancy as a video (WorpeX RULES!) but you can follow along with the google doc link elsewhere in this thread.

Car most fun to watch: Team Leprechan's T-Bird! If HalfFastRaceway was longer this car would have taken it all! What it lacked on the downhill run it more than made up on the flats.

Damage report: Sinister Dog's Charger, front axle became unglued in shipping. If the car was bolted together I surely would have performed emergency repairs. The chassis appeared to be glued to the body in the front and on the sides.

Nice job Carl getting the racing done so quickly. I liked how you set up the brackets so you could click on the car number and see how it did. And thanks for the update on my T-bird. How long is your track?
