Track Building Resumes…

Midwest_Diecast_Raceway Sunday, 8/18/2024

We resumed building our track today. After deciding on a layout, building a bridge, having life put everything on hold, we began setting up the track and testing it, in its permanent home.

We appreciate the suggestions, questions, and comments from you on our other posts. We've implemented as much of the suggestions we could. As we are working with a foot print that is 12 by 4. We are slightly limited and presented with challenges. With that said, we believe we will have a track that offers speed, competitive racing, and great visuals along the course.

The video below is a very short clip of two quick tests. Our goal is to set up in phases to allow fir testing and adjustments. The addition of the bridge will be done in phase three. It turned out great and I can't wait to show it off, along with a few other attractions we plan on doing.

Joking aside, I did see a host whose track ended with, and this is true, an 8 inch sudden drop with cars falling as they will onto a hard surface. Nope, not racing there — Chris_Hood

Thanks! I saw your pic of using a 1” washer to hold down the orange track. I’ll be using 1” 1/16th thick aluminum bars. I got them really cheap and the bars will allow me to have a consistent flat section of track. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
