Going into the third round, the top 3 are Rally Case #87 (3.555 average), Smitty #76 (3.56 average) and Chevy C10 #3 (3.60 average).
Let's see how it all shakes out !

I did have a tie for 4th, which I raced off...FatMike ran a 3.56 and Stroller ran a 3.66...4th to FatMike

...there's mess of cars that are really close in 3rd through about 8th! Next week's drag race will settle it!

These are the first 2 cars where I had polished the axles with the 1" buffer pads and a little of the dremel's "grit", I did it by hand, sliding the wheel away from the axle flange, then rubbing the axles left to right, rotate and repeat, the buffing pad collapses around the axle so as not to create flat spots... rinse super well, rinse again... any grit left is a loss... I will try this again soon...
Congrats to you front runners, RC, FM,Smitty... this was a tough event to build for. Not knowing the track layouts, made for some fun racing! Great job to you 72/Chris hosting and keeping the cars rolling in new ways!

Thanks TE! I didn't really know that layouts when I started...it's been fun coming up with different ways to run these cars. I like having the cars go around corners...it's cool because the fastest cars around a corner aren't necessarily the fastest cars in a straight line.
Agreed...lookout, now that Smitty is polishing axles!

I've been lazy on thus thread this week! But, it all comes to an end tomorrow! I will have the bracket posted and the match-ups early tomorrow and I'll have a good ol' Saturday Night Shootout to finish it up!
Rally Case's Heavy Chevy is going to be tough to beat, and FatMike's Cuda has a pretty solid lock on 2nd place...but it's going to be a heck of a fight to get on the podium! The 3rd through 8th place cars are all in it with a shot!
As I said early in this thread, the cars will be raced off all the way down to 29th spot. So, it will be interesting see if the best handling cars are also the fastest cars!

The top 2 cars are coming out of the lower right section...could get interesting!
I haven't really been able to do a lot of photography with these cars...and it's a shame, because they are really good looking cars!
But, the weather is a little better today, so here are your first round match-up shots...
The 2nd round had Rally Case #87 ripping a 3.49...Chevy C10 #3 running a 3.56...and Smitty #76 and Stroller #89 both running 3.59.
