Unopened, yet modified race

CrzyTrkrDude Wednesday, 11/4/2015

I just thought of a Crazy idea.

What about a rip and roll race that allows modding the car all you want. Graphite, weights, whatever can be done to a car...

But here's the catch...The blister pack, must not be opened, or torn from the card. Only ( insert a limit here)say 5 holes may be cut, maybe, say, the size of a quarter, a nickle, a dime, and a penny, and one, recangular hole, say, 1" x1/2".

Builders must post photos, of where the coin holes will be placed to be able to modify the car while it is still in the packaging.

Any car, truck, van, box truck, wagon, dump truck..and maker, and

Any wheel, EXCEPT FTE'S  wheels ( since fte's are becomeing rarer and more valuable nowadays, to avoid "accidently wasteing an axle" maybe just any wheel BUT FTE'S)

150 grams( packageing included, minus the top part of the card, that can be removed) as long as it fits on a standard orange track, standard height, width rules apply.

Say, send in 4 cars, but only 2 will race, in case a glob of glue runs wild in the packaging you might still have something to race.

First host will open the card, and roll it 1-2 times on a flat 3 foot section of track just to see if it rolls. Any that do, the builder then decides which to race.

Any that don't roll... Prize pool.

Anyone care to test their creativity and engineering!!??!!?

I can think of a BUNCH of stuff that will allow for weight to be added, graphite the axles.... All that stuff.

So like a Ship-in-a-Bottle race?

Fascinating. I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years...and you're just asking for punishment, aren't you? :)

Certainly a pro-level competition but could be very interesting. I'd say there are no rules at all, shy of not opening the card and number of entries. Any weight, any wheels...if you manage to mod a car in a bubble, you've earned it.

And maybe rather than specific holes, just limit the number of holes (5) and limit their dimensions...no side longer than 1/2" or whatever. Then I think the host will qualify if there are too many holes and DQ from there, then rip em open and race. Rather than eliminate non-rollers pre-race, just race em...if they don't win, they lose anyway, and that might help keep a more normal-sized bracket.

Quite an idea, Trucker...guess they don't call you Crazy for nothing :)

Yeah, I like that name "Ship in a Bottle".  'Cept maybe " Car in a Bubble"( or blister??)

I see your point. Rip it and run it.

I was thinking, if someone builds a car, and it won't run, they might have 3 others that might be able to make a team of 2.

It wouldn't be too hard to add weight, and shoot a fistful of graphite towards the hubs. Lol.

5 holes.  1 for each wheel, and a hole for adding weights. But  that might be a concern, for those who use lead. It would be difficult to contain the lead if it is sitting in the bed of a pick up or something...

We'll get more ideas I am sure.

I know I have one specific vehicle in mind!!  Lol

I can't remember what it was called, but there was a tournament where you sent in a modded car and the same model that was modded...with the most improved car winning. I thought that was a cool idea.

Stroller had that race idea, I think it was called before and after???
