Hi, i am new to racing hot wheels, but none of my cars can beat the ferrari california. We only race a 4 foot track that tells you who wins, but will be upgrading to a larger one soon. Either way i need a car that can beat the ferrari on both short and long tracks. Thanks

Check out our Fantasy League. Below is a link to the 'cars' section of the site. To find the fastest cars, check the "All Pro" box, then the hit filter button. This will sort the cars by best rating which usually means the car is fast.

Finding the fastest car will change time and time again the more you race. When I started racing, the Batmobile FTE was the best in my collection. Then it. Was the Dodge Demon...now it's probably Turbolence. Of course, all of it depends on the track too...long, short, seamless, segments...it all makes a difference. But you saying you race on a 4 foot track will really put cars to the test. We have some short tracks in the League but nothing that short.

And welcome to Redline Derby! I hope you'll sign up and play in the fantasy league...it's fun and you'll get a lot of car data.

What would be the minimal track length going straight down ( i guess 45 degree angle) to let the fastest cars really shine? Has anyone raced against a Ferrari California?

Thanks

My non-FTE ferrari california gets beat by pretty much everything that can roll. The FTE version however, is one of the faster ones in my stable. As far as recent cars go, the FTE1 Javelin, Italia, and Triumph are all faster for me.

What is the fastest angle to race cars down? Is 45 degree the best? thanks

The height and a smooth transition might be more important than the angle of the downhill ramp.

It sounds like TheWoodsman might be racing on a 'HW 4-Lane Raceway'. The downside to that set is its lack of expandability. Unlike then newer(& longer) '6-Lane Raceway', the older 4-lane version doesn't have tabs on the end to add more track to. Orange track is your friend...If you wanna get some cars up to speed, you're probably gonna need more than 4ft.

The 4 lane raceway (6 feet) does have the connectors at the end. I ran the Redline races on mine a few weeks ago and it transitioned into 8 additional feet of orange track.

And which of my cars beat the Ferrari California? A much higher % beat it than lose to it.

My bad....they're obviously more visible on the 6-lane set.

Yeah, i was using the 4 lane but will be getting a longer one soon. If anyone has the 6 lane raceway and has a Ferrari california, do any of your other cars constintly win against it? Thanks

Is the California you have a Faster Than Ever variant or just a normal mainline? The two are VASTLY different cars. The non-fte isn't really anything special, as seen by the fantasy league stats where its raced on multiple different tracks:

The FTE on the other hand, is much better:
