WHO WANTS TO RACE
I'll be starting a separate topic about the PA Diecast Gathering soon, however I've received some news that just couldn't wait...
'crazycollector' has invited his friend, Mike Zarnock, to attend the gathering and he has accepted. Mike Z's support will undoubtedly help boost event attendance as well as the charity effort. It should also provide some nice exposure for RLD.com and the Featherweight Challenge!!
Check out Mr. Zarnock's 2012 schedule...we're on there already!!

Thanks to the PA bunch!
This Featherweight Series is really turning into something!
Spent part of the weekend testing and tuning and trying to scale down to 4 cars for my entries.
Here is the 'work bench' after the weekend carnage...and this is after I cleaned up a bit!

Not sure why the photo won't rotate properly...
Bryan, are all of the cars on your 'work bench' less than 35g?
Almost. There are a couple that are just over, but I came up with about 30 cars in my small collection that were 35 or under....some as low as 28 and 29 grams. I then weeded out the slower cars and got down to about 8 cars that were at or under 35g stock. Then I started playing with axle swaps, pulling interiors/ glass, subracting weight or adding it a little (clay works great, stick it to the hood or roof)
I think the contenders for the featherweight are going to be right at the 34.9g weight limit, based on my testing the lighter the car...the slower and more squirrely it was....makes sense of course.
And now my 11 year old son, Cooper, is interested in the challenge and is working on a couple of Lamborghini's to enter.
ditto on weights,
when we raced classes and times, you could see on paper the increase in speed as the weight classes went up....
. also, go cooper go....

Oh great, another Jobe kickin' our butts on the track!
Ok, now that I own a scale I've been able to assemble my final 4-car "team". In the interest of maintaining the element of surprise( ), I won't list them here. But here's what I goooooooood!!
