Yet Another Tournament Idea: Pre WW2 Iron
This tournament is all about open wheel hot rods, rat rods, jalopies and road demons all based on cars made before 1942.
It is called "Hot Rod Heaven". There should be two parts...first part is:
"Original Iron" the cars should look of the period
no big blown engines, no chrome wheels, no drag slick tires, white walls are optional, think old school. "Original Iron is not stock but a hot rod made with what was at hand back then.
Second part is:
"Today's Rods" car bodies before 1942. But after that anything is cool. All the chrome, fancy paint, blown mills, slicks, chrome mags.....you get the idea.
Probably typical rules on weight and height will probably be the rule.
Feedback feedback please........

I like racing these cars as much as the next guy, but I'm thinking that all of these races with two different classes that have races at the end with some from each class then points that are all jumbled together might be confusing to racers and more importantly the hosts! What happened to building a car or two with one set of rules and racing them all together?

I'm with Carl. If you want two different classes that's cool, but keep everything separate. If individual host want to run grudge matches against/ between the winners of classes, go ahead and do it. That's one of the perks of being a host., but keep it out of the points and I wouldn't even tell the winner unless someone asks.
Even more to the point. Make one race series with one theme. One class.
I.M.O.
it appears we now have plenty of racers wanting to start a series...cool !
that was not the case a couple years ago...
with more racing series we can now race one set of entry rules per...
anyway, I am with carl and TLD on racing 2 cars each class [series]...
Okay should I start another thread to perhaps attract more people....Call it...HOT ROD HEAVEN ?
love it...maybe call them STREET ROD and HOT ROD classes...
a 1948 ford uses the same body as a 1941, different noses and trim, [no production cars from '43 to '45] the national cut off year for street rods has been 1948 since the '50s... a move to '48 would include the '47 fleetline for the GM guys...
GO ROLLER GO !
