The October Boneyard Classic
Saturday, October 6th, 2018We all have that cup, pail or bucket full of car parts that get discarded when we build our cars for racing...the Eternal...Quest for Speed...this race is about harvesting those parts...and building a car to live and race again!!! We will take separate wheels...back and fronts must be different and if you're axel tube inclined...why not make it four different wheels!!! the Body and Chassis must be from different castings/cars as well...use your imagination and skill and make'em fit....and your car(s) must be given names. However...NO NICKEL PLATTED AXELS ALLOWED...time to use those Mainline axels for some builds. So, build 1 or 2 cars and let's kick off October with a fun and challenging race!!!!

Prizes
Some cars and a small trophy
Track
Races will be run on the Quest Speedway track.
Race format and scoring
This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.
The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.
Bracket seeding will be random but will try to avoid having an entrant race themselves, especially in the first round.
Penalties/DNF
Cars are given a grace of 2g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for tournament prizes. Offending cars will still race. Prize will go to the runner-up in the case of penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.
This looks like a challenge. Different and interesting. I'm going to start digging.
Racing overload!!!! Every day when I either test some stocks for fastness or start messing with a build, I liked the idea of polished up stock axles only. I only have about 6 fte cars so it’s a benefit for me. I don’t have much scrap cars anymore that aren’t older JL’s but I can create parts. Lol. I’m in!
I love it. Going to go big...
You can get as creative as you like...or just follow the rules, here's C10's GTO Judge body on a Chrysler 300 Chassis...now with different wheels front and back and it's ready to race the Boneyard Classic.
Working on mocking up a nomad onto a way to fast base. Also trying to come up with a name.
That's to wild...one of my builds is a Trim Trk body on a Way 2 Fast chassis!!!
Think this will be "Not your Fathers Twinmill"
Da Prowler...Formul8r body...Bon Voyage chassis and the two donor axels/wheels.
I have something going on with a 71 Charger but I started building this a few years ago as a shelf piece. I would obviously change the axles but I think the body is a maisto. Would it still pass?
Meet THUMPER !!!
The Junkyard Dog !!!
47 Fleetline body
83-84 GMC Panel van chassis
Mickey D car rear wheels
Rig Storm yellow front wheels now silver
Wieghing in at 57g
Top notch Chuck!!! Great looking build!!!
