Featherweight Challenge Series II (California)

I'll have to say, I was a bit surprised that we were running single elimination. I was like "What, that's it? Over already?" The only other mail-in tournament I've entered is the Gassers w/ double elimination. Guess I should have read the rules a little closer.

Great pics. and I have to admit thats how we run our racing at the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club single elimination. Go Hard Or Go Home! We have to because of time we can run as many as 500 cars per meeting between our five downhill race classes. Keep up the great work on here I think it's awesome to have got involved with this group on RedLine Derby. Cant wait to see the Featherweight series cars on our track July 22nd!

Yes, after running the race. I thought, "Man, that was quick". Could have easily run the double eliminations...Especially after breaking it down into two classes. Live and learn I suppose.

it was hard to tell... last series had 58 cars, pretty good load...this series has 32 cars... who knew...
i know it is too late for the golden state's heet, but perhaps we could ask the commish if anybody's got a beef with going double elims [where applicable ] my help is cool doublin' up.

I'm all for double elimination, and the same point system we carried in the Gasser Wars. Two points per win is okay in single elimination, but wouldn't work in double elimination.

Power has been restored here in Ohio so that's one less thing to worry about. Am I working under a deadline here? And where do the cars go next? Sorry...kind of been half paying attention to this thread

Okay, if we're sticking to single elimination, we should do our best to mix the brackets up at each stop in the series, so that each car faces a different opponent (excluding own team member) every weekend. I've message Carl with this request. What do you all think?

I still would like to see some stops have double elimination. Perhaps Smitty would do it? Otherwise, yeah, I think the brackets should be changed at every stop. I don't want to have to keep losing to the winning car every race!

I.M.O. if you are not on a time limit, and with only 32 cars i'm in for double elims in ME. but it is not my call.... some guys take half a day to alter the house to be a dragstrip.... if they don't mind the extra racing we shouldn't either...

It might be a little confusing if we do both double and single elimination because of the points. A two point per win scoring in double elimination would give the winner an overly-lopsided amount of points compared to all the other racers.
For instance my Demon would have collected 14 points in the first double elimination tournament in the Gassers California race.
