Series-I will be over before we know it, which leads to the following questions;

Do y'all want to have a Series-II?
Anything you'd like to see done differently in Series-II?
Who would like to host a race in Series-II?
Anybody else prepping cars for Series-II?

Yes
Don't know yet

Yes

How about a small offshoot..maybe one car per team for an ultra-featherweight like 25g or under.

super ditto !
maybe 2 ongoing series, racing every two weeks but on alternate weekends so we race every week but the hosts will have extra time to PLAY with them [right T.L.D.?]
racing every two weeks feels like looking out the classroom window... dreamin' of summer vacation

How about a Heavyweight Challenge?

how... heavy ?
"drag tracks" don't like to launch if the cars are too heavy...it can't pull the pins down...
JASON'S 113 is good... maybe 1/2 way between 113 and 35 approx.. 75 G's... that's just a thought ... you guys make the rules and i'll stuff the diecast darlings with lead...

Anybody else prepping cars for Series-II?

I think we need a weight class to shoot for. Something new, different than 35 grams just for the sake of being different. I've been thinking about weight classes lately. Maybe we should establish some weight classes. I took this from the Maine Hot Wheels Racing site.

Class A: 0 to 24.9 g

Class B: 25 to 34.9 g

Class C: 35 to 44.9 g

Class D: 45 to 64.9 g

Class E: 65 to 84.9 g

Class F: Funny Cars All

Class X: 85 to 101g

I was going to go with these classes for racing my own stockers. Anybody see any advantages or disadvantages with these classes? Smitty had names for these classes, but I can't find the message where he was telling me the names.

maybe 2 ongoing series, racing every two weeks but on alternate weekends

That would be awesome, but require extra organizing to get two balls rolling at once. I'm up for hosting more races regardless.

If a new series/weight class was announced today it would still take me a bit of time before I could have any cars ready.

SOMETHING LIKE THIS ;
A= allstate, B= b.f. goodrich, C= coker, D= denman, E= excelsior, F= firestone, G=goodrich, H= hoosier etc.

...and Wooden. My cars will be ready for the Flat Tire class.

If we do another Featherweight challenge, I propose no FTE's.

Haha Worpex!

But I like your thinking...how about a NON-FTE class?

Mannn, I was over there working on some cars and just got back to this thread! A lot of conversing and lots to think about.

IMO (Smitty, that means 'in my opinion' ), it is better to stick to one and maybe two classes at the most. The problem with too any classes is getting them filled. Like any other racing, it's no fun without competition, again IMO. I do like the idea of sending in one 'Ultra-Featherweight' car along with your FEATHERWEIGHTS..

Not allowing FTE wheels would be hard to police. Sure you can spot an FTE wheel right off the bat, but can you spot an FTE axle? I can see the 'builders' in this group running other wheels on the FTE axles.

I do like the idea of having two different series running alternate weekends, but at different sites. The idea of having two weeks between races was to allow plenty of time to get the cars from one locale to another. If races were run back to back weekends in the same location that would be lost.

I would like the FEATHERWEIGHT CHALLENGE stay pretty much like it is and maybe have the 'alternate weekend' series be different each season. It's really up to everyone though. Without people commiting to building or sending in cars there can be no series!

I had a nice post about classes that got lost in the ether...

Anyway, I agree with Carl...keep it simple, maybe one option for the super light cars.

Instead of alternate weekends...how about race when you can race? Say I get the cars on a tuesday...if I can race them on wednesday night then I do it, then send them on to the next race venue.

Or go to once a week but try and organize the venues so the cars aren't criss crossing the country...more like a tour!

All I know is my back is tweaked right now so I'll be taking a night off from working in my shop on furniture and messing around with little cars instead!
