Know what you mean. My RRR's can barely stay in the race box group I have with the 5 spokes. The PPP truck beat everyone here, but didnt do well at either host site. I have my FFF set up to be winners here and even out run the PPP truck now that it is back, but I dont expect to win FFF overall - just hope to make a good showing!

I did that for one of my RRR entries, it isn't that much faster. My entries for FFF and RRR both suck....

I'm probably speaking for everyone here in saying that it is hard to make any given car go faster.

As for fixing the axles, I only do that if there is no way out of it. I very rarely 'fix' the axle, preferring to let it spin in hopes of reducing friction.

Build a bunch, test, test again, then send.

Schmitty is the only one I know of that can build a fast car without even testing the damn thing!

ONE CAN "FREE FLOAT" THE AXLES, BUT TO DO SO YOU NEED TO USE THE MATCHING INTERIOR AND BASE SO THE HIGHT AND WHEELBASE ARE RIGHT...KINDA LEAVES ME OUT...

Problem is that I'm racing on a tight budget so I can't buy all the Tungsten weights to build a bunch of cars.

I don't think too many of us use tungsten.

You have to use a ruby tipped tungsten saw.....I think they are illegal in most states.

I don't, I just use a weight that's the right size to cram into the car somewhere, and sometimes I will use Tungsten putty to fill the cracks. What do you guys use to add weight to your cars?

The sporting goods department has plenty of fishing weights in a lot of different sizes, both lead and metal. I prefer lead. it can be hammered into different shapes. I think of JDC's cars when I'm swinging the hammer!

i use LEAD,
ask any guy who metal detects... they will sell lead fishing weights to you cheap...
I like the salt water 1 or 2 oz, triangle style...
oval "steel" weights are not malable like the "lead" ones...
an old knife, needlenose plyers, a hammer and a chunk of concrete... with the knife and hammer cut to the [size] weight you need... hold with needlenose plyers, then hammer the chunk into a shape that fits the body...

The reason I use Tungsten instead is because Tungsten is heavier than lead, it takes less volume of Tungsten than lead to make a car heavier.

The reason we use lead is 'cause it's cheaper so we can build more cars to test.
