Gravitywerx Spring 2012 Mail-In
Will run the opening round tomorrow, Monday, my day off. Too much traffic in garage on Sunday. Plan to use PA system recorded into recording software then made into generic Youtube slideshow. First round is only race where lineup puts best (alleged) cars in front. Timed lap is most scientific of several methods used. So finish should be like lineup. But don't count on it. Even the best cars crash! And congrats to Smitty on pole for first ever Gravitywerx 100% mail-in race.

There must be some mistake!
It would seem that way that a Smitty dragster would do well on this track that heaves top-heavy cars over the wall! Smitty's cars "topple", they never flip. But this car replaced a loaner around round 3 or 4 and went from 20th-something to 4th in the Fall race.
Smitty Takes Opening Round! Like I said, the lineup for this race is a fairly accurate assessment of these cars ability to win. I actually thought that the Gspeed2 car, starting second, was the strongest having won the Round 10 A race in the Fall. But it crashed twice and finished 8th. Smitty was alone at the front for the entire race with only Worpex and Gspeed1 a ways behind fighting for second. Worpex finished 2nd, Gspeed1 3rd. TLD was 4th, followed by the Aussie car which lost it's body on the 9th lap lowering it's center of gravity considerably! I'll tape it back on for Round 2. They will start in the reverse order of todays finish next week. My audio of the event is pretty sketchy and might be unusable. I'll try to edit it. Congrats to dragracer Smitty for a dominating win on a track with curves!
second... i'm ok with that! For now... That darn Bedlam can't win in the featherweight challenge but its doing alright here!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUAjBruWL80 Smitty and Worpex Battle Again; Neither One Wins Round 2: With half the field crashing every lap, it didn't take long for last weeks top cars to move to the front. Worpex led most of the race dogged by Smitty but flew of the track coming out of turn 2 on lap 8 or 9. Smitty crossed the finished first on lap 10 but GRI2 (Goolz Jr.) went underneath him in the chicane setting up overtime laps. GRI2 could not repeat and Gspeed3 took the next 2 laps for the win. Smitty was 2nd and Gpeed1 3rd. GRI2 was 4th and Worpex 5th. Smitty has a 4-point lead over Gspeed1 in the points. The video has a duplicate and a few missing laps. I tried shooting the whole thing and clipping the action sequences but it is difficult.
That is a crazy video. I think my car is getting caught in traffic that's the only explination.
watched it twice... that '39 ford woody [ made from a BAD APPLE tree ] seems to be one nasty little wagon... and is starting to look a little like one too !
This series looks like a 2-car race between Smitty and Worpex unless some replacements are sent. Who wins depends on who can stay on their wheels in the final laps.
on the pole... sounds like a naval punishment... go team go
