These should hit the PO tomorrow provided I can get there during my lunch break. This will definitely be a learning experience for me. Problem with these two castings is the lack of space to add weights. I think they are both at about 40 grams. Don't know how fast they might be as I didn't have the time to test them. I'm already disappointed though as the paint chipped after the first run when the Triumph bounce back out of the padded finish box. No more runs after that. Darn thing has three coats of Future floor wax and it still chipped. Just might think twice about investing so much time in painting for future races.
I did paint on the tail lights, although I don't know if anybody's gonna get a look at them.

Ohh, yeah. Guess you didn't get the memo. Very few of us paint for mail-in events because the paint jobs just don't hold up very well. I should show before and after photos of my cars from the featherweight series II. It was baaaddd. Haven't painted since. I think Carl has some secret that he isn't sharing cause his painted cars are the only ones that seem to be unaffected!

There's a pretty good chance it will come back with a lot more paint missing. Personally I've never minded the nicks and scratches. It just reminds me that the racecar I built was actually raced!

Those cars are looking good by the way.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm not too worried about how they'll look when they come home. I just wanted them to look good when they left. I just slopped another good coat of Future on both of them so we'll see how it holds up.
The front and back seats of the Anglia are full of flattened fishing weights. I did get some under the hood and trunk of the Triumph but didn't want them showing in the seats. Just have to pay a little more attention next time before I pick something.
Can't wait to go racin'!
