What's on the bench?

Here's what's hot on the bench this week, the two GT cars are getting the deluxe treatment for the upcoming thunder County races. And the orange Porsche Safari may show up at custom carnage. All are looking promising but more work is needed.

And the Chopper.

I did a white primer base and then the green on top. The hood was supposed to be white/green checked pattern but the paint didn't bond and pulled up with the masking tape. No time to fix it so bare metal will do

Some days I don't know if I'm a Hot Wheels noob or a boob and this week I'm thinking boob. So I posted on FB I think that I had 2 proper Pixar cars in process and used some generic 6mm masking tape (not Tamiya brand) and suffered major paint bleeding. I took one of those and tossed it in the paint stripper overnight --- it came out with the spray paint I had applied and the tampos gone but the original Mattel paint still there but a little pittted. Geez.

So I grabbed a fresh Pixar car and whomped on it for 3 days - turned out real nice but ...... wrong series. Oops ... rinse and repeat again this week. Sigh.

Took the engines out and I just want a clean smooth hood. I have to dremmel polish it down and work on the hood more. It's the closest thing I've found to the Tucker Torpedo concept drawing. 

 Here's just a few of what's on my bench. I normally have about 50 tore apart and on different stages of rebuilding.
