Working on a foam suspension for my Evo. I used some Krylon paint that doesn't work to make the rusty-ish look. I like that it looks like it was thrown together out of scrap parts (which it was...).

- Ty, you'll see it soon at gravity throttle racing — ManiacMotorsports
Last week I was at Advanced Auto and happened to spy their rattle cans so of course I had to look. I'd not seen Dupli-Color before but the $16+ per can was a nope for me. I Googled later and found JB Tools was selling the same rattle cans for $8.62/can. These arrived today.....can't wait to try them out!

- Gotta love metallic paint. — ManiacMotorsports

- I've only used their primer which I love. I heard those look great when they are used over a silver basecoat. Can wait to see! — Sunshine_City_Garage
- That paint has been on my radar for a while now. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. Let us know how it goes for you. — Zamak_Speed_Shop
- I bought these for that Spectraflame like potential of letting a mirror polishing of the ZAMAC shine through. I'll definitely report back when I have some results. — BadWoolRacing
- That's What we used on our Sled build, great paints, slightly expensive. $8+change not too bad no — QuadWheelz

Finally got things more or less set up and then watched the requisite number of YouTube movies so that I could fire up my airbrush without hurting myself or it. All in all, I'm pretty happy it's certainly more work than disposable rattle cans, but I can begin to see where the Creative levels are pretty much unlimited. But right now I'm just working on finger coordination and aiming the damn thing.
here is tonight's work so far waiting to clear coat these in a couple hours. The orange 55 Chevy was first and certainly had some overspray and other issues. The blue car is a JDM of some sort and it came out pretty good as my second attempt and the Porsche 911 in lime green that was my last attempt and it's pretty good. Really enjoyed doing the ZAMAC finish stripes

I continue on learning about the airbrush and paint mixing and the reducers and intercoaters and flow improvers and all that stuff. And I've had overspray under spray orange peel sagging along with basically perfect paint. In the picture below the bronco is eventually headed to the Big O, but this is try number three. The first two tries went straight to the paint remover can. And the Ferrari in red is a eBay rescue as well.
but still even with all these troubles I see the eventual bonus of being able to have complete creative control.
