On the bench
My airbrushing adventure continues as I prep a VW Drag Bus for shipout. Way out of my league on both the mods and build not to mention the paint. If anything I want to make sure it looks good on the shelf. It was a late night on Saturday then back at it on Sunday with decals.
I have so much junk, so went in quest of the gutts of the old 4" belt sander
figured, east break in dyno, but well, had another thought
as some have said,
I grew up during the land speed record wars, good stuff
have always been a bit obsessed to want to do it, on steam and air
(thats another story)
I am thinking this sander may be called the salt flats
a new track
my idea, below, feed back is so welcome
how many Feet/sec can a HW sustain?

- I think the real question is how far can you launch a diecast? — StrayDog
- I also have a 2" air cannon with a very large tank, I have thought about that too, will a HW go thru 1/2" plywood, (other voices) — dr_dodge
- and preliminary testing indicates the answer to your question is, Way Too Far! — dr_dodge
- A combined question then: Can your belt sander launch a HW through 1/2" plywood? — StrayDog
- hhhmmmm.... — dr_dodge
- My snap analysis of your project is: for ‘inserting’ a Hot Wheels into a sheet of plywood definitely go with the belt sander idea, for an actual Hot Wheels Dyno you should go with a digital slot car motor. — AbbyNormal
In today's episode of casual modding we will be doing a wheel swap to get the real riders off of the Yenko Corvair and swapped with the little Mighty K truck that has the same size wheels. Notice that the little truck has a skateboard in the bed.
Then mod the Yenko up to about 55 g and do a little speed work and see what it will do.
Just finished the decals. Going to do some gold accents and then clear coat.
