Redline Revival official entry thread

TE, do you have any used Redline parts for a Jack Rabbit Special such as a medium cap wheel?

I just wanted to say "Thanks" to Traction Event for putting this event together and running them over the holidays!

I had fun putting together my Heavy Chevy and CTD's Demon...but this one was all Delta's! Great job on your first win!

These cars are getting scarce, so you hate to see them them getting cut up for racing. But, when they pretty far gone, it's nice to see them get a second lease on life!

Thanks again, TE!

  • I agree 100%. And THANKS TE, and C10! WAY TO GO DELTA6!! — CrzyTrkrDude

Thanks Chris for the kind words, back at you guys.

JDC442, and Delta 6, can I combine shipping for you two? If not no big deal.

Everyone else is packed up and ready to go.

  • You can send them to Delta if you have his address. I'm sure he's eager to get them back — JDC442
  • Yep, no problem. — delta6

First: thanks to Traction Event for having loads of patience for running the race and the video. And, also to all the entrants for taking time to bring some life back into some cars that were likely considered garbage to just about...anybody else.

Second: thanks to ALL of you who continue to welcome new racers and help everyone along with tips & how-to's. JDC442 invited me here where I found out my interest in these little toy cars can be enjoyed MORE than just displaying them on a shelf.

Lastly, a word of encouragement. It's been something like 2 years of learning, from you guys here, and trying techniques used by others that I'm able to enjoy a win finally. I'm sure we all race for fun, but there's no doubt we all race to win too. Otherwise, it'd be known as redlinederby...driving, right?

Anyways, sorry for the long read but I wanted to take advantage of the win to thank everyone, including Brian, that keep the tires turn'n 'round here on the site.

See ya in the next race!

Nice Job, fun for us losers too. LOL Great job and at slow motion I can see the Cougar rubbing the rail most of the way down. Maybe had a chance if it went straight. Again LOL.

  • The drivers of my cars must've drank too much eggnog. — Brakefluid_Tracksurgeon
  • sloppies must have had someone switch their WOUND TITE coffee for DECAF... — fordman

Here are some of the characteristics that most likely made Delta's Jet Threat extremely fast:

1. Aerodynamic body; less air friction.

2. Flat body and wide wheelbase; increases stability and balance.

3. FTEs; less friction than standard axles.

4. Long car body and weight concentrated on rear; more potential energy.

5. Higher clearance; prevents friction from the nose scraping the track after rolling downhill.

  • recipe for winning... go delta go ! — fordman
  • 6. Super Cool paint color. Causes others to underestimate ones oponent — CrzyTrkrDude
  • Surprisingly, he didn't have to add any weight to the car. The Jet Threat I have weighs 53 grams like his. — Brakefluid_Tracksurgeon
  • As well as the Jet Threat I built for JDC442: 53g — delta6

Ok everybody, I'll be mailing out the final package tomorrow... to those who wanted their cars back. Please let me know when you get them. Smitty and Stroller's cars got sent to CCRider with a few extras for his son. Everyone, got an extra or two in their packages...I sent out some heavy boxes...so due to weight everything was sent Priority. You guys should all have your cars by the weekend.  Thanks for racing!

Delta 6, you and JDC are combined... anything not marked JDC...is yours enjoy the spoils of war!

@ Cliffordshaw, no sign of your cars...

  • Just got a text from usps saying that the package arrived in Pinckney PO this morning. There is $ inside for return shipping. — cliffordshaw
  • Hopefully the trip back will be less than the 17 business days it took to get there — cliffordshaw

Well... better late than never...

These two took a few trips down the strip before I box em back up and send them home. http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u495/Squiggy799/IMG_0182.jpg

  • Well, at least they got to do a few burn-outs! — 72_Chevy_C10
  • Ah that's nice TE. I coulda been somebody! — cliffordshaw
  • Dang, would have loved to see those two in the mix. Sorry the post didn't come thru for you cliffordshaw — JDC442
  • you coulda been.... champion of the world ! — fordman
  • That Sand Drifter would have conquered the entire Roman army. — Brakefluid_Tracksurgeon
  • well shoot. dang USPS! at least they are safe. — CrzyTrkrDude

Both of my entries arrived in the mail but as soon as I grabbed the box I knew there was a Christmas morning in there. Several FTE cars and the Fat Fendered 40 I yearned for came out of the box first then both of the entries in a blister pack, TE had said I would find FTEs.

A huge thank you for your amazing generosity, TE!

  • Batman FTE? Lucky!!! — JDC442
  • Used to have a pile of those Batman cars... 13 at one time... glad you like the cars!. — Traction-Event
  • ohhhh, that Caddy might be quick AS IS. And those axles on the bat mobile are about the longest ever made. — CrzyTrkrDude
  • The Caddy is the fastest one of the set. Long wheelbase, long body, large wheels, somewhat heavy. — Brakefluid_Tracksurgeon
  • yep. the caddy is a proven winner. — CrzyTrkrDude

I got my car back today and a whole lot more.  Thanks TE, it was a great end to a rotten week (clogged main sewer line...then had to pull up a toilet and discovered I needed to do much more than put in a new wax ring...then discovered I needed to cut a hole in a brand new tile wall I did...all, oddly, unrelated).

Anyway, some cool cars I've wanted to try running.

Tip though TE, you should wrap the flat rate boxes when they're light, not when they're full and heavy ;)

A big thanks to Stroller, Smitty, and TE. My boy was so excited about the extra cars! He even shared a few with his little sister. :)

It didn't take him long to get them on the track.
