I'm excited to see that 97 Ford truck run. I looks like a solid runner. The Drifter hasn't run yet but I wonder if it's not too skinny...might be a slammer.

I think the Tahoe v. Firebird should be close. I'm giving the Tahoe the edge.

Looking at the stats for the GTO v. Corvette match...it's great to see that the GTO's only weakness is the Corvette, ha!

I'm curious who would win between the 1956 Ford Truck and the Meyers Manx.
The Ford Truck seems to be a dog in my recollection. I has weight but it is rather
skinny and awkwardly balanced. The small wheels don't seem to help either.
The Manx has no weight but at least it rolls well. Both have 1-3 records.
I picked the Manx.

Testarossa vs. FTE Corvette: another TXDRA face-off! I'm torn with this one...I like the Corvette cause I have one in my garage, but a Testarossa win would bring me closer to the #1 position.

Martin~ I'm hoping your '97 F-150 is a winner! It's going for me this week against the DeLorean.

Dude, your 97 Ford Truck did great! It was a little slow on the drop but it made up for it on the straightaway...got some good wheels on that one.

the Hurricane was super happy this week! He said he was making some trades this week but had some plans for a big trade. I think he's really aiming to keep that 1st place ranking. I hope he comes up with something good..... he's pretty tricky sometimes, lol.

Plus I'd love to see him win!

On a side note.... after seeing him and I matched up yet again for the 3rd week in a row, I am becoming less and less convinced the pairings are truly random. I know I have asked the question before (and been answered) but I just dont see it.

Cars are supposed to race the closest ranked car, right? So it's safe to say the Rover and the EVO will be the top race in next weeks international class. And the Testarossa and 959 being paired up after that?

I'm thinking it's random to a certain point. Cars are paired up randomly with cars that are closely rated. I don't think it's always the top two cars going against each other, it depends on if those cars were chosen to race that day. Or else I think the Mustang Fastback FTE and the Land Rover would have been paired up quite a while ago. The international class is a different story, those cars run every week, so I would assume your assumptions would be correct.

It looks like the time you were paired up with Hurricane Chase were not during the International class races.

The international class was just used as an example. All of those cars race every week so they should be easy to pick.

Chase and I havent raced each other in international yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened next week. it's been a pattern for awhile now. We'll see what happens next week Either way, I'm proud of the boy for holding 1st place for as long as he did

Go Chase!

I've met several people more than once in a race, including you (Jason). I think it's fair enough to say it's still a random game. Lord knows I don't want to see you or Chase in the next race, but if that's how it comes up then that's how it comes up

Chase has a pretty good lead, but the next race win points are doubled so maybe some of use still have a chance

I don't even pay attention to whoever owns the racer that I am
competing against.

Voting on brackets may alleviate any concerns about who is
matched up with who. Everybody gets to pick whatever racer
they think and people can pick the same racer. The skills will
be in determining the close races.

Glad to hear the '97 Ford F-150 did well, if it would have lost I think I would've really questioned my Hot Wheels racing experience. Yes, it really seems to kick into gear on the straight away.

For what it's worth, the cars are pulled completely random. I have no idea who has what car when I seed the race...in fact, it's just a button that says "Seed Race" --- I click it and out comes the list.

Step 1. Cars are pulled from your garage at random (per class).
Step 2. That list is then sorted by rank low-to-high to create pairs.

The brackets will change things up quite a bit next season. It might be less random overall but should see a lot more cars get into the shuffle. Although one question I'm looking at it if the brackets should be entirely random or also seeded by rank.

I mean, in a real sports bracket, the first round is high vs. low rated in a theory that the #1 and #2 teams will play in the championship. I don't necessarily agree with this method and I'd much rather see our races just be out right random brackets.
