THE ________ CUP?

Jump to first page Jump to last page

Well. it looks like it's down to the '67 Chevelle or the '71 Maverick unless somebody else has a suggestion. I'm pretty sure they are still sending out that Chevelle in the current batches and the Maverick seems semi easily available.

I bet if they were left stock the Maverick would be faster than the Chevelle...

I can't tell if you think having a faster stocker is a good thing or if you'd rather go for the slower stocker so that our mods have a chance!

This is awesome. I think imposing restrictions like a single car is great and really lays down a challenge. It should let everyone show off their modder ability, whether for speed or show. I might try to get in on this one if I can find the time.

I think I'm in line with what everyone else is saying but...
- Same base car for everyone to start
- I'd say modding is optional although understand your stock car would be going up against engineering cars
- Limit the weight to something reasonable but not feather weight, like under 45g or something. Heavy is not always better!
- I'm indifferent about the FTE vs non-FTE. Having the same base model might be limit enough for this challenge.

And whatever car you pick that fills in the blank! The Maverick Cup...or The Bone Shaker Cup

I don't have any idea what kind of car that is. Looks cool though. Didn't like the Maverick idea JDC?

Love the Maverick (have a blue and a red version) which are both fairly fast. For some reason though, they have a tendency to careen halfway down my track, so I'm a bit hesitant to go with that model.

The Chevelle seems even more easy to find. It's currently out there in a greenish/goldish color with gold wheels. The red one in the photo above was around for a good long time, and before that it was available in the Hot Wheels race team colors.

The Maverick is currently in the Hot Wheels race team colors. I think before that there was a red one, and before that a blue with yellow trim...

all these versions of both cars have all been available since Christmas, so it's seems people should be able to find these cars.

If the Chevelle is picked, can you go back to the 2010 model? Unless someone left it 100% stock, you wouldn't really know.

From my experience, the Chevelle's run much better out of the package.

I don't make the rules, but it would seem optimum, maybe not possible for everybody to start with the same car and color decoraton. Just because.

Other than that it seems like the '67 Chevelle is a '67 Chevelle no matter what color it is. Different stock wheels, on the other hand, could factor in and possibly be a problem.

Well who's in? It' time to vote on what car to use.

1. '71 Grabber Maverick

If I'm seeing things correctly. The Chevelle has two votes and the Maverick has two votes.

I.M.O.... either one under 45 Gs....

I vote for the Chevelle.

I[code:v6g3z38w]'M cool with 1 car each class, gassers and "the DEE cup"... say when !

My first thought was The Sippy Cup. Looks like we're thinking basically along the same lines.

. . . Different stock wheels, on the other hand, could factor in and possibly be a problem.

IMO being as modding is allowed, it wouldn't really matter which wheels came on the car originally.
