The DRAG CAR Challenge
I just checked the rules and it's not mentioned, in fact I don't think any of our races rules have mentioned it specifically, but we've always removed the interior or part of it to add weight. Just make sure the you axles are secure if removing the whole interior.
If anybody has any questions just. There are quite a few new racers here and I guess that some things or rules have "always been done that way", which doesn't help much if you're new. Please ask!
thank you

I sort of remember talk about interiors in pre discussions for the Gasser races...This particular Drag Car Challenge has a very very loose set of rules, which has led to a lot of questions but I think It will work out just fine.
Chevrolet isn't getting enough love in this thread so you can expect a couple coming from me. At least they'll beat the Fords!
Hey everyone, first off sorry for the confusion in regards to the rules. I should have had rock solid rules set in stone prior to hosting an event. That is my fault, sorry.
I understand that most Funny car chassis out there do not have wheelie bars, and some do not have chutes. That is originally why I stated your entry must have either/or chute/wheelie bar.
hot wheels makes a number of Pro-stock chassis that do have a chute and wheelie bar.
I would hope the cars you send in meet this criteria.
I should have left it at that and never said the Mustang funny car without a chute was OK, again my fault.
Not even sure where to go from here........ I wanted this to be a fun event........
It IS going to be a fun event!
And I'm sure most of us will send entries that are in the spirit of your intentions.
My Sox & Martin Duster has no chute or wheelie bars yet there is no doubt about it being a Pro Stock car!
You've got to start somewhere and I think you've done an excellent first time job of starting a series.
Kudos my friend!

For those of you interested in racing with us and haven't picked out a car yet, these links will help familiarize you with Pro Stock and Funny Cars. Might even give you some ideas on what to race:

Agreed! ANybody that steps up and makes things happen is alright in my book. Anytime we start a "new' event there always a ton of questions and request for clarification for everything under the sun. That's why doing Middleweights 2 and Gasser 2 races...those go relativity seemless because all the details have been worked out.
Good job on taking the bull by the horns a making something fun for everybody out of nothing!
working on a little somethimg for this event.
doimg an FTE swap and indeed more weight. does this car qualify for pro stock? even though its a neon

Hey !!!!! Aren't Neon's front wheel drive???? Do the big wheels have to be on the front???
So...wheelie bars are or aren't required on a Funny Car?
Also, I still don't know the exact definition of 'chute;' it's like a fanning-out spoiler, right? Also, do Probe and Firebird HW F/Cs have chutes?
And yes, this is a good event. It'll be neat to see actual 'drag-racing cars' drag racing (as opposed to vans, trucks, police cars, street cars, etc. ).

Did a google search for: chute drag racing. I came up with this:
This is a chute (parachute), it attaches to the rear of a car.
A chute deployed.
Ain't google something!
Are interiors required for prostock?
