Hey !!!!! Aren't Neon's front wheel drive???? Do the big wheels have to be on the front???

[quote="FOTF"]So...wheelie bars are or aren't required on a Funny Car?
Also, I still don't know the exact definition of 'chute;' it's like a fanning-out spoiler, right? Also, do Probe and Firebird HW F/Cs have chutes?

And yes, this is a good event. It'll be neat to see actual 'drag-racing cars' drag racing (as opposed to vans, trucks, police cars, street cars, etc. ).[/quote

On a real prostock or funny car the chute is just slang for a parachute. It is used to slow the car down before they run out of track. I don't think the FOTFcars will have to worry about running out of track.

Haaaa haaaaa haaaaa.

Thanks for the definitions; I think the meaning of 'chute' has finally worked its way into my thick skull.

kharvest, that Neon is the real deal...pro stock. nice....now is it fast?

My chassis....yes that is a stretched TR6 chassis....my faith in JB Kwik will be tested this challenge.

I believe these are my entrants. The Funny Car is a definite, and I think it may be the fastest car I've ever built. I may change up the Pro-stock entrant, I only added weight. We'll see...

I don't have a horse in this race, but wanted to throw something out there with a strategy I have seen with the flopper cars here. Do they HAVE to open? I personally tape or glue them down to prevent the loss of speed when hitting any bumps and it bouncing up (unless it is very tight already). Same thing with opening hoods and the backs of the Ferrari F40s. I got the idea from seeing other people do the same thing.

Yeah I glued my hinge closed for that very reason...and because I basically destroyed it trying to get it open
