Bumping this in light of the news about tungsten prices skyrocketing.

What other weights have served you well? Maybe something you "discovered" before tungsten or when you just need something else.

And FWIW, I have a shit ton of wheel weight lead strips if anyone is looking for it...happy to price it nice to unload it. It's the same strips that I sold with the RLD Axle Kits.

  • Wheel weights for the win. I got a whole bunch of the stick-on weights a while back .... still going through them, haven't even used a quarter of the box yet. — SpyDude

I use steel pellets/BB's from my pellet gun, (they are about .49g each) and steel wheel wights (7g) or fishing weights (various sizes)

On this Pixar build I used both fishing weights and the pellets.

A coil of lead that can be made into fishing weights, cut to the right size for the car.

Used lead and steel tire weights....my neighbor has a tire shop so I get bucket fulls.   Also new lead fishing weights.

I use various types of fishing lead and Walmart sells a 1lb roll of quarter inch round lead you can cut to length. For tough spaces I use steel bird shot

I mainly use car weights, but Ive recently started using fishing weights as well. Harbor and freight usually is loaded wirh car weights, I actually get my fishing weights from Dicks sporting goods of all places

Lead wheel weights easy to work with cut bend and shape. I do prefer tungsten and have some extra small pieces that I use to fine tune whe weight displacement
