As the top two seeds, Traction Event and FOTF’s second
car both had byes in round one.
Remember this is a double elimination bracket. Cars had to win two in a row, alternating lanes to move on.

I am staggered by the amount of time and effort put into the track, video, production... simply fantastic!!! AND over 47min of race action!!!! AND it's only the 1st round... I need to go sit down...mind blown. Awesome work CCRider...awesome.
CCRider, Im left speechless. First off wanted to thank you immensely for the awesome video you have provided for us! I know it wasnt easy putting all that together.
I love how you managed to rig the sizzler turns into 90 degree turns. I'm still looking for a way to do that!
My funny car is going to deal out some damage while he remains in, he took some nasty falls in the first round.
I'll tell ya, ive seen FOTF's red viper run on my sizzler open track and its quick, definitely a likely winner for this event.

Kill or be killed - this is gladiator racing! Lots of great moments here on a track full of cruelty (both in spectacular wrecks and unexplainable all alone DNFs on the final straight). It looks to me like the really fast cars actually benefit by getting sideways early to scrub off some speed before hitting hell house hill coming out of turn 2 and losing it all. I've got my eye on 98.1s purple thing - it runs a mean and clean line....have to see how it reacts to contact.

The racing was so epic this round! I love watching the cars get air after turn 2! Some great cars left. Hoping the Invader can pull through the losers bracket but the competition is tough as nails
Thunder Road is in the books. First let me say THANK YOU for letting me race your cars. It was a blast!
So I decided to do a double elimination tournament instead of a single so everybody could see their cars race a bit more. Also since I race two lanes, to make it fair, I decided that the winner had to win two in a row. In the end, you should get your moneys worth. I ran A LOT of races (Some match-up had upwards of 8-10 races, some only two). When all was said and done I uploaded 199 videos to my computer. About 45 minutes worth. 2-5 hours worth in slow-mo depending on how much I slow it down. Sooooooo, what I'm planning on doing is just posting a video of each round for the next several days. I'm also not going to post the results until the end. I think the suspense and watching the action unfold in the videos is way more fun that just looking at a list of finishing places. So I guess I better get started on that video!
...But before I do a word about the track. I've been racing a few years now. This track was one of the first I built. Back then when we were all just starting out our cars were a lot slower and those cars are what I used to design the track. Fast forward to today. The cars in the HWRL Thunder Road races were way faster. That being said, the straight between turn 2 and 3 is a bit of a drop and some cars were getting some air. In the future I may make some modification, but for this race it made for some spectacular crashes that were definitely game changers.
