Grudge match race, CCriders last turn pass... Epic! First race with my Datsun, everyone sideways in turn one...pulling the 180 j turn, with a push from the FOTF Ferrari. Pharodox edging out 2seven on final straight...
The wait is over guys. I know how anxious i get waiting for new videos to get posted from others, but we needed to separate these round because of video length and to give us enough time to run the final event, which should be today.
No spoilers, but congrats to the big winner today!
The final was a nail biter. And you should watch the 35 closely. Coming all the way out of the grudge, we knew the 35 had late speed, and had shown a spooky ability to swerve out of traffic, find the open lane and make the late pass. But in this heat it found the 41 - who got sideways in every run at some point - and nailed it square, pushing it instead of passing it. If those hits had caught the 41 at an angle even, results would have been far different. So it goes in the canyon. Congrats TE and we have a one-point series after four events!!!!!
I finished backwards twice in the last race…so you guys
don’t need to worry about my tail lights… it’s the headlights! :)
Ok, the final event is the 4 into 1 track…. Points are tight
and as we’ve seen in the open track racing anything can happen. This has been
an event to remember, and rival the original Factory Wars
Ok folks, the Funnel race is in the books and it makes for an exciting finale. Cars were grouped into heats of 4 cars each, running once in each lane. First car through the funnel gets 2 points, second one through gets 1 point. Track narrows from 4 lanes to 2 in a pair of funnels, then again from 2 lanes to 1 in a final funnel. And here's what puts the "fun" in funnel. If the car running behind can tag the car ahead of them in the final funnel and wreck them, they can steal the position by knocking the leader off the track.
After the first round, we held a 4-car grudge match to get 8 cars into the semi-final heats. There were a bunch of cars clustered at 1 point each vying for the final spot in the grudge so we didn't shoot those race-offs.
In many ways, this race turned out to be about positioning. If you and your "funnelmate" run at similar speeds, that means trouble in the funnel. Some cars benefited by running a Talladega strategy, hanging back to avoid "the big one". But running single through the funnel was not always safe. The 3D bot maker funnels are shorter than the old Hot Wheels ones, so some cars got unstable just passing through. Will this new format shake up results? One hint - one car got its first win ever!
Track preview is below with a just-for-fun stampede of random racers (no official entrants)

I am re-entering the hobby to celebrate my upcoming birthday. This. Event. Is. Awesome. What a great idea! I am anxious to start now!
I have the next video ready to go. But I'll be out all day. I'll try and post it later tonight
I know you all are anxious for some more action. Here you guys go. The seme final round is underway.
My favorite part is the amount of abuse JDC's Fat Fendered 40 lays on the others...including myself which lead to my Gov'na opening up :D

I'm spending 50% of my time watching for new videos & the other 60% designing a curvy track in my head! Good luck to CCRider & TE in the finals.
